Das ist der Brunhildisfelsen auf dem Feldberg im Taunus.

In dem Moment, als ich die Wanderer reinmalte, kippte das Bild ins romantische...

ich nenne es meine Hommage an Caspar David Friedrich (auch wenn die Wanderer heute irgendwie immer neonfarben leuchten).

This is the Brunhildis rock on the Feldberg in the Taunus.

The moment I painted the hikers, the picture fell into the german romanticism...

I call it my homage to Caspar David Friedrich (even if the hikers today somehow always shine neon-colored).

Das erste mal malen ohne kalte Hände und Füße...

Wie so oft war das licht am schönsten, als ich zusammenpackte:

Der Dürer Blick auf Innsbruck

Ich war wie jedes Jahr im Februar bei meinem Verlag in Innsbruck - und hatte wie immer mein Malzeug dabei.

Das ist der sogenannte Dürerblick - den ich nun über 500 Jahre später auch noch mal malte (und ich dachte ich sei die erste :-)

Tatsächlich hat sich die Stadsilhouette aber so verändert, dass ich ein komplett anderes Motiv vor mir hatte als der Meister....

Obwohl ich ewig an den Türmen und Häusern und allem gemalt habe, war es eigentlich doch nur diese irre Farbe des Flusses, warum ich genau dort gemalt habe :-)

This is the so-called Dürerblick (Dürer's View) - which I painted again more than 500 years later (and I thought I was the first :-)

In fact, Innsbruck has changed so much that I had a completely different motif in front of me than the master....

Although I painted forever at the towers and houses and everything, it was actually only this crazy color of the river, why I painted exactly there :-)

Noch ein Bach im Schnee UND Sonne

Und Zack! kam die Sonne ein paar Tage später raus - und noch lag der Schnee im Taunus..
Ich bin also ganz kurz entschlossen gelich wieder zu dem Bach gefahren und habe ihn dieses mal ein Stück weiter oben gemalt, wo er noch nicht im Wald verläuft, um auch was von der Sonne zu haben.

Bei diesem Bild wusste ich von Anfang an was ich tue - sowas fühlt sich dann immer besonders gut an - und führt auch immer zu einem guten Ergebnis (das ist wie ein Painter's High).

Das ist glaube ich mein bestes Schneebild bis heute (mittlerweile Bild Nr 638), damit beende ich die Schneemal-saison :-)

And wooosh! the sun came out a few days later - and the snow was still in the Taunus...
So I decided to go back to the creek and painted it a bit further up this time, where it doesn't run through the forest yet to get some of the sun while painting.

With this painting I knew from the beginning what I was doing - something like this always feels especially good - and always leads to a good result (it's like a painter's high).

I think this is my best snow painting so far (meanwhile painting no. 638), so I will end the snow painting season right here :-)
