Pleinairmalerei Workshop Tag 1 Bild 1

Ich habe eine 2 tägigen Einzelworkshop gegeben. Dieses mal war meine Schülerin eine sehr erfahrene Malerin. Allerdings malte sie bisher nur mit Aquarellfarben.

Das Ölmalen war für Sushma komplett neu (und total gegensätzlich zu ihrem bisherigen Vorgehen) - und auch draußen hatte sie noch nicht oft gemalt.

Der Schwerpunkt des Kurses war deshalb der Farbauftrag in der Alla Prima Malweise - da sie da aber auf Anhieb alle meine Tipps sofort umsetzen konnte, ging es auch schon sehr um die Besonderheiten der Pleinairmalerei:

Das "richtige" Sehen, das Vereinfachen und die Beurteilung der Farben nach Tonwert und Farbtemperatur.

Sie war so motiviert, dass wir tatsächlich 2 Bilder malten und fast 7 Stunden am Stück an unseren Staffeleien standen - das war dann aber doch etwas viel: wir waren beide durch an dem Abend.

Aber Spaß hat es mir gemacht - und ich denke mal ihr auch :-)

Man kann auf den Bildern gut erkenne, dass das Licht schnell wanderte: 

So konnte Sushma nicht einfach nur bei mir abmalen, sondern musste selbst genau hingucken und in ihrem Motiv vor allem den Hintergrund, der nun nicht mehr komplett im Schatten war ganz anders anlegen als noch ich in der sStunde davor. Und das ist ihr, wie ich finde auch sehr gut gelungen!

I gave a 2 day individual workshop. This time my student was a very experienced painter. However, she had only painted with watercolours so far.

Oil painting was completely new to Sushma (and totally opposite to her previous approach) - and she had not painted outside much either.

The main focus of the course was therefore the application of paint in the Alla Prima painting style - but since she was able to implement all my tips right away, it was also very much about the specifics of plein air painting:

The "right" way of seeing, simplifying and assessing the colours according to tonal value and colour temperature.

She was so motivated that we actually painted 2 paintings and stood at our easels for almost 7 hours at a stretch - but that was a bit much: we were both through that evening.

But I had fun - and I think she did too :-)

You can see in the paintings that the light was moving fast: 

So Sushma couldn't just paint with me, but had to look carefully herself and create the background in her motif, which was no longer completely in the shade, in a completely different way than I did in the hour before. And I think she succeeded very well!
