Hier wollte ich eigentlich nur den Leuchtturm in den Dünen malen – dann war der Himmel aber so dramatisch, dass ich den Ausschnitt ganz anders wählte... Ich bin sehr froh über diese Entscheidung, da ich so viel besser die Weite dort einfangen konnte.
Es war auch ein Zeichen, dass es, als ich die Staffelei aufbaute gerade aufhörte zu regnen – und genau beim Einpacken werde anfing... Zum Glück hatte ich mich beeilt und so nur kapp 1 Stunde gebraucht.
Den Leuchtturm habe ich auf auf den Tag genau vor 10 Jahren schon einmal gemalt, damals nicht vom Strand aus, sondern direkt davor in den Dünen sitzend....
Damals war es mein erst 7. Ölbild, mittlerweile bin ich bei Nr. 1019

Here I actually only wanted to paint the lighthouse in the dunes - but then the sky was so dramatic that I chose a completely different detail... I am very happy about this decision, because I was able to capture the vastness there much better.
I painted the lighthouse 10 years ago to the day, not from the beach, but sitting in front of it in the dunes....
At that time it was only my 7th oil painting, in the meantime I am at no. 1019.
