Amrum – Strandkörbe
And this is my farewell painting, which I painted on the evening of the last day of the course during a very pleasant get-together at the Fischbäcker restaurant on the beach in Norddorf.
I don't think the result is particularly successful, but it is a wonderful reminder of that evening – with a really great feeling of the work being done for the week :-)

Amrum – Gewitterhimmel
I had to hurry so much with the first painting because of the incoming tide that I still had time to paint a second picture at the Nordspitze, this time with a view towards Norddorf:
There I saw the weather that had been forecast coming towards me... it turned pitch black and I had to flee the beach and cycle back in the pouring rain.
Amrum – Nordspitze
Since we rescheduled today's course for the afternoon due to the weather forecast, I used the morning to paint at the nordspitze.
I stood on an ebbing island that was shrinking very, very quickly – and then I had to wade back through water that was already knee-deep. It's unbelievable how quickly the water always comes in...!

Amrum – Kniepsand
This is my painting demo from today's course, which we spent in Kniepsand: The endless expanse there never ceases to impress me... I tried to capture that in my composition.

Amrum – Blick nach Sylt
Sunshine at last! But as the wind was still very strong, I sought shelter behind a beach chair. It didn't help much: there was sand everywhere, on the palette, on the painting, in my eyes and hair... everything was crunching.
The painting shows the view from the beach at Norddorf across to Sylt.

Amrum – Düne
After cycling around the island all day looking for good places to paint, I painted in the dunes in the evening. The wind was so strong that I didn't have much choice of subject matter and could only paint what I could see from my hollow (I would have preferred to paint at the front of the beach).
Amrum – Leuchtturm
Eine neue Artistravel Malreise brachte mich auf die Insel Amrum:

| Und das ist meine Ölbild Nr. 1019 |
A new Artistravel painting trip took me to the island of Amrum:
I have a very personal connection to this island: I got married at this lighthouse. So it was obvious that I would paint it first.
It was the perfect start to my week of painting there.
I have painted this motif several times before:here are the previous results (you can see a certain amount of progress, can't you?)

While painting this piece, I was constantly interrupted by rain showers.
That gave me more opportunity than usual to look at my painting in peace while I was working on it: that helped me a lot not to paint too much...

Bretagne – Felsen im Wasser
I painted this one in the incoming tide: I had to pack up and leave in a hurry, otherwise my way back over the rocks would have been too breakneck....
That I still misjudge how much time I have (and need...?) Crazy.
Bretagne – Wolken über dem Meer
I found a cozy little hollow where I was sheltered from the strong wind and painted the fast-moving clouds above the waves.
My view was a little restricted, but I made up for it by including the beautiful blossoms (which otherwise always have to be left out of my paintings).
Yes: that's how a painting vacation works :-)

Bretagne – Boote im Hafen von Kerfissien
These boats are moored in the small harbour of Kerfissien.
I painted one of my favourite pictures there last year – and found it difficult not to simply copy myself, but to consciously choose a different angle.
I really like the result – it seems to be a good motif for me.
