Strandkörbe

  

Das war das 2. Bild, das ich am ersten Tag des freien Malen beim Ostsee Plein Air Festival gemalt habe.

Während des Malen wurde ich ununterbrochen mit Verkehrsnachrichten, Wetterbericht und Schlagern beschallt, die aus dem Radio des Strandkorbvermieters hinter mir plärrte.

Gemalt habe ich es auf einer dunkel grundierten Malplatte, weswegen es weniger leuchtend wurde als meine üblichen Strandbilder. Nachdem ich erst ein bisschen enttäuschtdeswegen war, mag ich jetzt aber die Stimmung sehr, die das Bild dadurch bekam.

Ich kann das Foto leider nicht mit dem Original abgleichen, denn das hab ich an der Ostsee gelassen, wo es nun in der Sommerausstellung des roten Pavillons in Bad Doberan hängt.

This was the 2nd painting I did on the first day of free painting at the Baltic Sea Plein Air Festival.

While I was painting, I was constantly bombarded with traffic news, weather reports and pop songs blaring from the radio of the beach chair rental guy behind me.

I painted it on a dark primed painting board, which made it less luminous than my usual beach paintings. I was a bit disappointed at first, but now I really like the mood it gave the painting.

Unfortunately, I can't compare the photo with the original, because I left it at the Baltic Sea, where it now hangs in the summer exhibition at the red pavilion in Bad Doberan.
