Das Bild zeigt die Kunstakademie im Allgäu – dort war die Basis meines einwöchigen Pleinairmalerei Workshops. Das Wetter war anfangs nicht so dolle, so daß ich ganz froh war trotz allem ein Indoor Atelier als Fallback zu haben, auch wenn ich natürlich mit meinen Teilnehmerinnen versuche möglichst nur draussen zu malen.
Im direkten Umfeld der Akademie finden sich so viele wunderschöne Motive, dass man noch nicht mal das Grundstück verlassen muss: einfach perfekt für Pleinairmalerei!
Das Bild malte ich früh morgens, noch bevor die Teilnehmerinnen nach und nach eintrudelten.
Leider habe ich wegen des Wetters (oder weil wir zusammen essen gegangen) nicht so viel "privat" gemalt wie sonst - aber ich werde nächstes Jahr zum Glück wieder dort unterrichten dürfen (20.-24.7.), dann mal ich alles, was dieses Jahr noch ungemalt bleib.
The painting shows the art academy in the Allgäu - where my one-week plein air painting workshop was based. The weather wasn't great at the beginning, so I was quite happy to have an indoor studio as a fallback, even though I try to paint outside with my painting group as much as possible.
There are so many beautiful motifs in the area around the academy that you don't even have to leave the grounds: simply perfect for plein air painting!
I painted this piece early in the morning, before the students arrived one by one.
Unfortunately, because of the weather (or because we went out to eat together), I didn't paint as much “privately” as usual - but luckily I'll be allowed to teach there again next year (July 20-24), so I'll paint everything that remains unpainted this year.
