Dieses Bild malten ich nach dem zweiten Workshoptag auf der Burg Herstelle (über den Workshop schreiben ich noch einen extra Beitrag, der war so schön: davon muss ich berichten!)
Der Tag war sehr durchwachsen: es schüttete zum Teil sehr heftig, dann kam aber auch immer mal wieder die Sonne raus: und das Ganze unter einen total dramatischen Wolkenhimmel.
Nachdem ich den den ganzen Tag beguckt habe, auch als Ölskizze zum Erklären, wie das mit Wolken geht schon ganz klein gemalt hatte, musste ich den Abends einfach noch mal in groß malen!
Und als Kirsche auf dem Kuchen kam dann sogar nochmal die Sonne raus – die ich dann sofort mit ins Bild malte.
I painted this picture after the second day of the workshop at Herstelle Castle (I'll write a separate post about the workshop, it was so wonderful that I have to tell you all about it!
The day was very mixed: at times it rained very heavily, but then the sun came out again, all under a totally dramatic cloudy sky.
After observing it all day, and even painting a small oil sketch to explain how to paint clouds, I just had to paint it again in the evening! And as the cherry on top, the sun came out again—which I immediately painted into the scene.
