Wintersonne am Schlangenweiher

 

Als ich dieses Bild am Schlangenweiher malte, hatte ich wieder mal alle Wetter: erst Sonne, dann regen, dann wieder Sonne - und dann verschwand sie hinterm Berg.

Die Farben haben sich dadurch total verändert...

Zum Glück war ich schnell genug die sonnigen Moment einzufangen.

Ich liebe all diese feinen Nuancen in den Farben der Natur im Winter!

When I painted this one at the Schlangenweiher, I had all kinds of weather again: first sun, then rain, then sun again - and then it disappeared behind the mountain.

This totally changed the colors... Luckily I was quick enough to capture the sunny moments.

I love all these subtle nuances in the colors of nature in winter!

Wintersonne im Wald

Eigentlich wollte ich nur den Baum im Vordergrund malen, aber dann hat sich die Sonne zwischen die Bäume (und ins Bild) gedrängelt und ich konnte sie nicht einfach ignorieren, also habe ich sie zuerst eingefangen.

Da ich das Bild deswegen in 2 verschiedenen Beleuchtungen gemalt habe, hat es irgendwie einen verträumten Look bekommen .... und ist erstaunlicherweise viel dunkler geworden, als ich es beim Malen dachte.

I actually only wanted to paint the tree in the front, but then the sun squeezed in between the trees and I couldn’t ignore it, so I caught it first.

As I painted in 2 different lightings, it took on a dreamy look somehow ....

Pfütze

 

Als ich gestern mit dem Fahrrad vom Malen nach Hause fuhr, kam ich an dieser Pfützenlandschaft vorbei - und wusste, dass ich sie malen musste.

Als ich heute Morgen anfing, musste ich erst noch ein bisschen warten: Die Pfützen waren noch gefroren und leuchteten nicht so schön.

Es ist immer etwas Besonderes für mich, wenn ich im Voraus weiß, was ich heute malen werde, diese Bilder fallen mir immer etwas leichter als spontan gefundene Motive. Wahrscheinlich, weil ich das Motiv schon vorher im Kopf gemalt habe.

Fast auf den Tag genau vor 4 Jahren habe ich schon mal so eine fette Pfütze gemalt:

die mag ich auch noch immer gerne (was ich nicht oft über "alte" Bilder sagen kann):

Bild Nr 847, gemalt im Februar 2021

Yesterday, while cycling home, I passed this puddle landscape - and knew I had to paint it. 

When I started this morning , I had to wait a bit: the puddles were still frozen and didn’t glow so beautifully.

It’s always something special for me when I know in advance what I’m going to paint today, these paintings are always a bit easier for me than spontaneously found motifs. Probably because I have already painted the subject in my mind beforehand.

Winterfeld

Den schönen sonnigen Tag habe ich genutzt um mal wieder in den Feldern zu malen: die Farben imi Ramen Licht waren sehr herausfordern, vor allem vorne der rote Schlamm des Feldes machte es mir nicht leicht ihn zu mischen...

ich habe mich so auf die Farbigkeit konzentriert, dass mir die Komposition etwas unentschieden geriet.

 I used the beautiful sunny day to paint in the fields again: the colors in the warm light were very challenging, especially the red mud of the field in front made it difficult for me to mix it...

I concentrated so much on the colors that I ended up with a somewhat indecisive composition.

Baumstämme

Heute war es dann plötzlich über 10 Grad wärmer, Sonne und Regen wechselten sich ab, fast schon wie im April.

Das Motiv ist ein bisschen schwer lesbar, aber ich bin mir ganz sicher, dass ich sowas bald nochmal malen werde - denn Spaß hat's gemacht.

 Today it was suddenly over 10 degrees warmer, alternating between sun and rain, almost like April.

The motif is a bit hard to read, but I'm sure I'll paint something like this again soon - because it was fun.

Winterwald

 

Obwohl ich heute extra früh aufgestanden und gleich raus bin, kam ich fast zu spät: Der Schnee schmolz schnell durch den einsetzenden Regen, während ich malte.

Aber ich bin froh, dass ich zumindest ein bisschen von dem Weiß erwischt habe ...

Das ist fast der gleiche Blick wie auf meinem letzten Bild.

 Although I was an early bird today, I was almost too late: the snow was quickly melting by the onset of the rain while I was painting.

But I‘m happy to caught a little bit of the white …

Nearly the same view as in my last painting.

Kiefern Baumwipfel

 

Mit diesem ganz schnellen Bild  der flachen Wintersonne auf den den Baumwipfeln starte ich ins neue Maljahr:

Dank der eisigen Temperatur habe ich mich sehr beeilt und bin dadurch schön rough und locker geblieben.

I'm starting the new painting year with this very quick one of the flat winter sun on the treetops:

Thanks to the freezing temperature, I was in a great hurry and stayed nice and rough and loose as a result.
