Löwenzahn

 

Weil es draußen einfach viel zu ungemütlich ist, habe ich mir mein Motiv mal wieder nach drinnen geholt (bei den Pusteblumen ganz ganz vorsichtig!).

Ich freu mich sehr, dass mir das Bild (über Instagram) noch feucht von der Staffelei weg abgekauft wurde - denn sonst hätte ich wahrscheinlich am nächsten Tag doch noch weiter dran rumgefummelt, was ein Bild nur ganz ganz selten besser macht.

Zum Glück habe ich eine geduldigen Käufer, denn mit dem vielent Titanweiß auf dem Bild, dauert es bestimmt noch einige Wochen, bis ich es firnissen und verschicken kann.

Because it's just far too uncomfortable outside, I brought my motif indoors again (very carefully with the blowballs!).

I'm really pleased that the painting was bought from me (via Instagram) while it was still wet from the easel - otherwise I would probably have continued to fiddle with it the next day, which only very rarely makes a painting better.

Luckily I have a patient buyer, because with all the titanium white on the picture, it will probably be a few weeks before I can paint it and send it off.

Fliederblüte am Feldweg

 

Diesen wunderschönen Fliederbusch fand ich auf dem Lohrberg.

Schön, dass als Motiv noch eine Spaziergängerin vorbei kam, die sich dann prompt auf frischer Tat ertappt fühlte, beim Flieder klauen.

Normalerweise blüht hier im Frühling schön eins nach dem anderen: erst die Schlehen und der Schwarzdorn,gefolgt von Magnolien, dann Kirsche und Apfel, und zuletzt der Flieder.

Doch dieses Jahr explodiert fast alles auf einmal, ich komme kaum mit dem Malen hinterher!

Der Flieder ist definitiv 3-4 Wochen früher dran als sonst!

I found this beautiful lilac bush on the Lohrberg.

It was nice that a walker came by as a motif and promptly felt caught red-handed stealing lilacs.

Normally, one thing after another blooms here in spring: first the sloes and blackthorn, followed by magnolias, then cherries and apples, and finally the lilacs.

But this year almost everything is exploding at once, I can hardly keep up with the painting!

The lilacs are definitely 3-4 weeks earlier than usual!

Saharasandhimmel

 

Heute malte ich unter einem total irren Himmel:

Der Wind wehte aus Afrika Saharasand zu uns - was den Himmels ganz bizarr in einen warmen Ton färbte. Auf dem Foto kommt das gar nicht so deutlich rüber, machte beim Malen aber viel Spaß (und ich musste dauernd neu mischen, um diesen Ton zu treffen).

Leider habe ich dabei wieder mal meinen schön lockeren Bildanfang viel zu sehr übermalt.

Today I painted under a totally weird sky:

The wind blew Saharan sand from Africa towards us - which colored the sky in a very bizarre warm tone. It doesn't come across so clearly in the photo, but it was a lot of fun to paint (and I had to keep remixing to get the right tone).

Unfortunately, I overpainted my beautifully loose beginning of the painting far too much.

blühender Kirschbaum

 

Jetzt ist wirklich Frühling: Bei 26 Grad explodiert die Natur um mich herum, und ich weiß gar nicht welchen blühenden Baum ich zuerst malen soll.

Ich entschied mich heute für diesen Kirschbaum auf den Streuobstwiesen nördlich von Frankfurt.

It really is spring now: at 26 degrees, nature is exploding all around me and I don't even know which blossoming tree to paint first.

Today I decided on this cherry tree in the orchards north of Frankfurt.
