Paris! Le Consulat

Am letzten Tag in Paris habe ich dann noch d a s Montmartre-Motiv gemalt...

Keine Ahnung, warum ich nach dem gestrigen Bild, das ja auch schon zu komplex für mich war, ausgerechnet das malen musste - manchmal trifft man merkwürdige Entscheidungen :-)

Immerhin habe ich es vor Ort fertig bekommen, auch wenn es für meinen Geschmack ein bisschen zu naiv geworden ist. Spaß hat’s trotzdem gemacht und ich hab so einiges gelernt.

I don't know why I had to paint this after yesterday's painting, which was already too complex for me - sometimes you make strange decisions :-)

At least I finished it on  location, even if it became a bit too naive for my taste. Nevertheless it was fun and I learned a lot.

Paris! Blick über Montmartre

Abends habe ich dann noch unbedingt den Blick von Balkon  in die Hinterhöfe malen müssen - da habe ich mich dann aber ein bisschen übernommen: das war  um einiges komplexer, als ich dachte und die Sonne sank auch schneller als angenommen, so dass ich das Bild dann vor Ort nicht fertig malen konnte. Da das der letzte Abend in Paris war, musste ich es dann zuhause von Foto beenden, weswegen ich dann (natürlich) zulange dran malte und zu viele Details einfügte.

Trotzdem ist es eine tolle Erinnerung an den wunderschönen  Blick über Paris!

Ups: da war die Sonne plötzlich weg!

In the evening, I absolutely had to paint the view from the balcony into the backyards - but then I got a bit carried away: it was much more complex than I thought and the sun sank faster than I thought, so that I couldn't finish the painting on location. Since this was the last evening in Paris, I had to finish it at home from photo, so I painted it (of course) too long and added too many details.

Nevertheless it is a great memory of the beautiful view over Paris!

Paris! Tempel im Parc des Buttes Chaumont

Nach den beiden doch recht anspruchsvollen Motiven vom Vortag, habe ich mich bei dem ersten Bild des 2, Tages ein bisschen mit dem vielen Grün ausgeruht. Dieser kleine Tempel steht auf einem Felsen in einem kleinen See mitten im Parc de Buttes Chaumont - von weitem sieht er schöner aus, als er eigentlich ist.

After the two quite challenging motives of the day before, I rested a bit with all the greens on the first painting of the 2nd day. This small temple stands on a rock in a small lake in the middle of the Parc de Buttes Chaumont - from a distance it looks nicer than it actually is.

Paris! Boot am Seineufer

Nachmittags, als wir mit den Rädern durch Paris gegurkt sind, entdeckte ich dann unten am Seineufer dieses wunderschöne alte Segelschiff, direkt vor der Pont Neuf. Ich bin ganz glücklich mit dem Bild, denn ich habe es geschafft beim Boot wirklich nur zu malen, was ich sehe und es nicht "zu konstruieren", dadurch wurde es schön locker. Obwohl ich mich bei der Brücke und den Häusern auch sehr zurückgehalten habe mit den Details, sind sie doch fast zu wichtig für den Hintergrund geworden.

In the afternoon, as we were strolling around by through Paris, I discovered this beautiful old sailing ship down on the banks of the Seine, just off the Pont Neuf. I am quite happy with the result, because I managed to paint only what I see and not to "construct" it, so it was nice loosely. Although I was very careful with the details of the bridge and the houses, they have become almost too important for the background.

Paris! Dächer

Paris!
Oh, hier wollte ich schon immer mal malen! Und nun hat es (trotz Corona!) geklappt.
Wir waren nur draußen unterwegs - mit den Rädern und holten uns lecker Piquenique aus den vielen Patisserien - und haben uns von den Menschen möglichst fern gehalten. Tatsächlich glaube ich, dass Paris noch nie so leer im Sommer war.
Das erste Bild malte ich gleich morgens während meinem Kaffee - das ist der Blick aus der Küche des wunderschönen Air B'n'B Apartements in Montmatre. Das ist 100% Paris mit all den  Zinndächern und den vielen kleinen Schornsteinen.

Paris!

Oh, I've always wanted to paint here! And now (despite Corona!) it has worked out.

We were only en pleinair - on our bikes and got some delicious Piquenique from the many patisseries - and kept away from people as much as possible. In fact I think Paris has never been so empty in summer. 

The first painting I did in the morning during my coffee - this is the view from the kitchen of the beautiful Air B'n'B apartment in Montmatre. This is 100% Paris with all the tin roofs and the many small chimneys.
