Zum Jahresabschluss hab ich mich noch mal an meinem neuen Thema, den Lost Edges versucht ...

Ich glaube (hoffe!) dass ich da langsam was verstanden habe :-)

Mit diesem Bild wünsche ich euch allen ein fröhliches und glänzendes neues Jahr!

Und weil ich ja was lernen will, habe ich das gleiche Motiv vom vorigen Post noch mal gemalt, dieses mal vor hellem Hintergrund (high Key).

Das Low key bild war knackiger und auch leichter zu vereinfache, weil vieles im Schatten verschwand, was hier nun voll ausgeleuchtet ist.

Ich habe Das Bild im Kurs gezeigt und tolle Korrekturen von Mark Lague bekommen: Die Tassen waren im Block in tatsächlich viel besser. von den "lost edges" her.

And because I want to learn something, I painted the same motif again, this time against a light background (high key).

The low key painting (previous post) was crisper and also easier to simplify, because a lot of it disappeared into the shadows, which is now fully illuminated here.

I showed the painting in class and got great corrections from Mark Lague: The cups were actually much better in the block in regarding the lost edges.

Ich lerne grade was neues:

Ich mache eine Online Kurs vom Mark Lagüe über Lost Edges. Dabei geht es darum freier zu malen, nicht alles was da ist zu malen, sondern mehr das, was man sehen möchte. Das fängt schon bei der Untermalung und dem Block in an,, ich habe den Prozess mal angehängt.

Es ist schwer zu erklären, am besten zeigt es glaube ich das Demo Bild aus dem Kurs ganz unten.

Noch habe ich das Thema nicht ganz durchdrungen, ich bin noch ganz am Anfang – aber auf einem guten Weg, denke ich. Das erste Stillleben ist auf jeden Fall schon recht interessant – und vor allem anders als sonst, was ich per se gut finden :-)

I'm learning something new:

I'm doing an online course from Mark Lagüe on Lost Edges. It's about painting more loosely, not painting everything that's there, but more what you want to see. It's difficult to explain, but I think the demo painting from the course at the bottom shows it best.

I'm still at the very beginning - but I think I'm on the right track. In any case, the first still life is already quite interesting - and above all different than usual, which I think is good per se :-)
