Mandelblüte an der Michaelis Kapelle in Bad Dürkheim

 

Im späten Nachmittagslicht bin ich dann noch mal los und habe die Mandeblüte an der Michaeliskapelle gegenüber vom Wurtsmnarkt in Bad Dürkheim gemalt.

Ich konnte mich gar nicht entscheiden, was ich am schönsten fand: die Kapelle, die blühenden Mandelbäume,chen, oder wie wunderbar pittoresk die Passanten auf dem Weg aussahen....

Un das Licht wurde mit jeder Minute noch schöner – und war nur 5 Minuten, nach dem ich das letzte Foto von der Staffelei geknipst habe, weg.

In the late afternoon light, I went out again and painted the almond blossoms at St. Michaelis Cahpell opposite the Wurtsmnarkt in Bad Dürkheim.

I couldn't decide what I liked most: the chapel, the blossoming almond trees, or how wonderfully picturesque the passers-by looked on their way...

And the light grew even more beautiful with every passing minute—and was gone just five minutes after I snapped the last photo of the easel.

Letzte Woche noch wuchsen hier nur ein paar Krokusse  (oder ist die Mehrzahl Krokeen?),

und jetzt quillt die Wiese im Bad Dürkheimer Kurpark über von Osterglocken und Bluebells (und ein paar roten Irgendwassen).

Das Bild ist mir vor lautrer Blüten etwas entglitten – aber Spaß hast gemacht in diesem Blütenmeer zu baden :-)

Das war mein Ölbild Nummer 1500 (eintausenfünfhundert!!)

Last week, only a few crocuses were blooming here – and now the meadow in Bad Dürkheim's Kurgarten is overflowing with daffodils and bluebells (and a few red something-or-others).

The painting got a little out of hand with all the flowers—but it was fun to bathe in this sea of blossoms :-)

Das ist das 2. Bild, das ich beim Pleinairtreffen RP in Siebledingen gemalt habe.

Es war so schön mit den anderen beim Malen zu qautschen und Nerd Gespräche über Farben und Pochadeboxen zu führen... auch wenn es bedeutet etwas unkomzentrierter zu malen.

Bei dem Bild wurde die Komposition deswegen etwas "off", aber ich mag es trotzdem, weil es die Stimmung dort oben am Geilweiler Hof schön einfängt.

This is the second painting I did at the Pleinairtreffen RP in Siebledingen.

It was so nice to chat with the others while painting and have nerdy conversations about colors and paint boxes... even if it meant painting a little less focused.

As a result, the composition of the painting ended up a little “off,” but I still like it because it beautifully captures the atmosphere up there at Geilweiler Hof.

Diesen Samstag habe ich es das erste mal geschafft beim Treffen von Pleinair Rheinland Pfalz dabei zu sein: Für die meisten war es der Start in die Pleinair Saison und ich genoß es sehr mit den anderen die beginnende Mandelblüte in Siebeldingen zu malen. 

Ich hoffe sehr, dass ich es dieses Jahr vielleicht noch mal zu einem dieser schönen Treffen schaffe!

 This Saturday, I managed to attend the Pleinair Rhineland-Palatinate meeting for the first time: for most people, it was the start of the plein air season, and I really enjoyed painting the early almond blossoms in Siebeldingen with the others.

I really hope that I'll be able to attend another one of these wonderful meetings this year!
