Das war das letzte Bild am letzten Tag unseres Artretreats in der Normandie. Ich habe mir dafür, zusammen mit Alfons, den wohl windigsten Platz an der Küste ausgesucht - ich musste sogar meine Staffelei an einem Poller festbinden!
Ich malte fast das ganze Bild bei bedecktem Himmel - doch dann kam ab und an die Sonne raus - und ich nutze die Gunst der Stunde und malte diesen Sonnenstreifen in das Bild: Das hat es erst komplett und stimmig gemacht. Ich empfinde rückblickend tatsächlich mein letztes Bild als das Beste das ich in der ganzen Woche malte. bringt also doch was, mal eine ganze Woche von morgends bis abends zu malen!

This was the last picture on the last day of our artretreat in Normandy. Together with Alfons, I chose the windiest place on the coast - I even had to tie my easel to a bollard!
I painted almost the whole picture under an overcast sky - but then the sun came out every now and then - and I took advantage of the moment and painted this sun stripe into the picture: That made it complete and coherent. Looking back, I really feel that my last painting was the best I painted during the whole week. So it's worth painting a whole week from morning to evening!
