Noch mehr Sonnenblumen

... und noch mehr Sonneblumen!

Dieses mal ein ganzes Feld, mit noch vielen anderen hübschen Blumen. Da ging es dann komplett mit mir durch und ich habe noch und noch und noch eine Blüte gemalt :-)

Hach... wie schön!

Außerdem habe ich eine neue Pochadebox gebaut und ausprobiert, die werde ich demnächst mal ausführlich zeigen...

I also made and tried out a new pochade box, which I will show in detail soon...

Sonnenblumen

Nach der aufregenden Zeit unterwegs (Malreise Sylt und Filmdreh in Berlin), ist nun alles wieder "normal" und ich machte mich am Wochenende auf Motivsuche in der Umgebung und fand diese riiiiesigen Sonnenblumen!

Eigentlich wollt eich viel lockerer bleiben... aber pffff... ich hatte so viel Spaß beim Malen, dass ich einfach nicht aufhören konnte :-)

After the exciting time on the road (painting trip to Sylt and film shoot in Berlin), everything is now back to "normal" and I went on a motif hunt in the area at the weekend and found these huuuuuge sunflowers!

Actually I wanted to stay much more relaxed... but pffff... I had so much fun painting that I just couldn't stop :-)

Berlin rund um den Tiergarten

So, den 4 tägigen Filmdreh für Domestika habe ich hinter mich gebracht - und als Belohnung habe ich die letzten Stunden in Berlin, bevor mittags mein Zug zurück nach Frankfurt ging, gemalt - und zwar nur für mich :-)

Da ich mich für kein Motiv entscheiden konnte, malte ich ein Multipicture, alles rund um den Tiergarten.

Das hat Spaß gemacht, so kleine roughe schnelle Bilder zu malen - auch wenn ich erst danach merkte, wie anstrengend dieses Akkordmalen dann doch war (ich habe im Schnitt 20-25 Minuten an jedem Bild gemalt und nur kurze Pausen dazwischen gemacht- um auf jeden Fall rechtzeitig zum Bahnhof zu kommen....)

Tschüß Berlin!

 So, I finished the 4-day film shoot for Domestika - and as a reward I painted the last hours in Berlin before my train went back to Frankfurt at noon - just for me :-)

Since I couldn't decide on a motif, I painted a multipicture, all around the Tiergarten.

It was fun to paint such small, quick pictures - even if I only realised afterwards how exhausting this nonstop painting was (I painted for an average of 20-25 minutes on each picture and only took short breaks in between - to make sure I got to the station on time....).

Goodbye Berlin!

Filmdreh für Domestika

Heute war es dann soweit: der erste Drehtag für meinen Domestikakurs!

Das war schon alles sehr aufregend, mit den ganzen Leuten und den vielen Kameras... ich war ganz froh, dass ich das Motiv am Vortag schon mal gemalt habe und so wußte, dass das sowohl mit auch als ohne Sonne funktioniert, denn das Wetter war wirklich sehr wechselhaft. Außerdem habe ich 4-5 mal länger an dem Bild gemalt als normal, da ich nicht nur oft in die Kamera gesprochen habe sondern auch häufig wegen störender Geräusche unterbrechen musste.

Manches hab ich wohl vergessen zu erklären, anderes hätte ich bestimmt auch anders gemacht, wenn ich noch mal die Gelegneheit hätte, aber im großen und ganzen war ich ganz glücklich mit dem Tag (und dem Bild) - ich denke ich habe mich nicht blamiert. Puh...!

Das wird spannend, ob ich dass dann an den drei folgenden Tagen, wo ich bei den Vorübungen im Studio gefilmt werde durchhalten kann :-)

So bald der Kurs online sein wird, werde ich hier natürlich drüber berichten!

Das ist das Ergebnis... schon ziemlich anders als das vom Vortag

Today was the day: the first day of filming for my Domestika course!

It was all very exciting, with all the people and the many cameras... I was quite happy that I had already painted the motif the day before, so I knew that it would work both with and without the sun, because the weather was really very changeable. I also painted 4-5 times longer than normal, because I not only spoke into the camera a lot, but also had to interrupt frequently because of disturbing noises.

Some things I probably forgot to explain, some things I would have done differently if I had the chance again, but all in all I was quite happy with the day (and the painring) - I don't think I embarrassed myself. Phew...!

It will be exciting to see if I can keep it up on the following three days, when I will be filmed doing the preliminary exercises in the studio :-)

Bäume im Schlossgarten Charlottenburg

mit Sonne

heute habe ich  geübt:

Ich werde über Domestika einen Pleinairmalerei-Kurs geben, und dafür bin ich nach Berlin zum Dreh gereist.

Natürlich werde ich mein Hauptmotiv draußen vor Ort unter freiem Himmel malen, und bin dafür heute schon mal zur Location geradelt, um zu gucken, was ich dort für den Kurs malen könnte.

Ich hab im Schlossgarten Charlottenburg diese schöne Baumgruppe gefunden udsndsie gleich mal probe-gemalt.

Ich bin geh zwar davon aus, dass morgen beim Dreh die Sonne scheinen wird, nachdem ich aber sah, dass die Kontraste auch ohne Sonne ganz gut kommen, habe ich gleich im Anschluss das Ganze nochmal "bedeckt" gemalt.

Das war auch für mich total aufschlußreich, wie das Motiv, die Farben und die Tonwerte sich verändern... ich finde sogar das sonnenlose Bild ein bisschen interessanter.

Today I exercised:

I will be giving a plein air painting course via Domestika, and for this I travelled to Berlin for the shoot.

Of course, I will paint my main motif outside in the open air, so I cycled to the location today to see what I could paint there for the course.

I found this beautiful group of trees in the Charlottenburg palace garden and tried it out right away.

I assumed that the sun would be shining tomorrow, but after I saw that the contrasts were good even without the sun, I painted the whole thing "overcast" again.

This was also very revealing for me, how the motif, the colours and the values change... I even find the sunless painting a bit more interesting.

Malreise nach Sylt mit Artistravel (Pleinairmalerei Workshop)

In der Woche vom 25.-31.Juli habe ich einen Pleinairmalerei Workshop auf Sylt gegeben, organisiert über Artistravel.

Hier sind ein paar Eindrücke diese ganz besonders schönen Woche mit einer wirklich tollen Truppe von Frauen. Wir hatten richtig viel Spaß miteinander - und ich auch mit den Teilnehmerinnen, denn sie waren absolut motiviert und haben alles, was ich ihnen beibringen durfte geradezu aufgesogen und gleich umgesetzt: Das ist das totales Dozentenglück :-)

Und dann war schon der letzte Workshoptag auf Sylt da: wir malten auf der Wattseite wegen des immer noch zu heftigen Windes auf der Meerseite.

Das ist das erste Bild, dass ich während des Unterrichts für mich gemalt habe: alle waren so vertieft in ihre eigene Malerei und stellten fast keine Fragen mehr... ich habe mich in der Woche tatsächlich selbst überflüssig gemacht :-)

Das war eine tolle Woche an einer superschönen Location - ich freue mich schon daruaf nächstes Jahr dort wieder malen zu und unterrichten zu dürfen!

And then the last workshop day on Sylt was already there: we painted on the mudflat side because of the still too violent wind on the sea side.

This is the first picture I painted for myself during the class: everyone was so engrossed in their own painting and asked almost no questions... I actually made myself redundant that week :-)

That was a great week at a super nice location - I'm looking forward to painting and teaching there again next year!

Sylt Glashaus

 

An diesem Tag fand der Workshop leider ausschließlich drinnen statt, das Wetter war einfach zu stürmisch um meine Teilnehmerinnen rauszuschicken...

Doch ich selbst machte mich abends noch auf die Suche nach einem etwas Windgeschützen Plätzchen und fand eines direkt vor meiner Unterkunft in der Akademie am Meer.

Ich wurde dafür mit ein paar letzten Sonnenstrahlen belohnt!

This day, unfortunately, the workshop took place exclusively indoors, the weather was just too stormy to send my participants out...

But I myself went in the evening still on the search for a somewhat wind-protected place and found one directly in front of my accommodation in the Academy by the sea.

I was rewarded with a few last rays of sunshine!
