Den schwachen Wind muss ich nutzen, und habe gleich im Anschluss an die Welle noch ein Bild gemalt:
Wie befreiend endlich freie Platzwahl zu haben - und dadurch auch freie Motivwahl! ... nur leider war die Ebbe schneller als gedacht und mein Motiv verschwand einfach beim Malen – da hat es auch nichts gebracht immer weiter vorne an die Wasserkante zu wandern.
Dafür kam genau rechtzeitig ein schmaler Sonnenstrahl: ohne das Licht hinten wäre dieses Bild um einiges langweiliger geworden ...
I had to make the most of the light breeze, so I painted another one straight after the wave:
How liberating it is to finally be able to choose where to paint – and therefore what to paint! ... Unfortunately, the tide went out faster than I’d expected and my subject simply disappeared whilst I was painting – so there was no point in moving further and further forward towards the water’s edge.
But just in time, a narrow ray of sunshine appeared: without that light in the background, this painting would have been far more boring ...
