Dieses Mal ist es die Nordsee...
Das Bild zeigt den Strand auf der Nordspitze von Amrum, in der Ferne am Horizont kann man Sylt erkennen.
Ich war total beeindruckt von den Wolken auf der Insel: da sie in so unterschiedlichen Schichten zogen, hatten sie sehr unterschiedliche Farben, das fand ich super interessant zu malen.
Die ersten Bilder an einer neuen Location sind auch immer spannend, da ich mich immer erst an die neuen Farben herantasten muss: Sowohl der Sand, als auch das Meer haben auf Amrum ganz eigene Farben. Das Meer ist viel weniger blau, selbst bei gutem Wetter und der Sand ist um einiges grauer und kühler vom Ton her als der Strand am Atlantik.

The painting shows the beach on the northern tip of Amrum, in the distance on the horizon you can see Sylt.
I was totally impressed by the clouds on the island: as they moved in such different layers, they had very different colours, which I found super interesting to paint.
The first paintings at a new location are always exciting, too, because I always have to get used to the new colours first: both the sand and the sea have their very own colours on Amrum. The sea is much less blue, even in good weather, and the sand is a lot greyer and cooler in tone than the beach on the Atlantic.
