Das Thema des 2 Workshoptags war Wasser:
Das mit Ölfarben zu malen unterscheidet sich total vom Vorgehen mit Aquarellfarben.
Mein Tipp ist hier die Spiegelung im Wasser sehr flüssig zu malen, so dass sich die Farben schön ineinander wischen lassen.
Beim Pleinairmalen ist die größte Herausforderung, dass sich die Wasseroberfläche ununterbrochen verändert: Mal ist sie glatt wie ein Spiegel, mal gekräuselt und die Spiegelung wird unscharf - und schon nur eine kleine Windböe zerstört die Spiegelung komplett....!
Ich denke, ich konnte Sushma so einige mit auf den Weg geben - und bin mir sicher, dass ich die Angst vor den Ölfarben genommen habe und sie nun neben ihren wunderen Auquarellbildern auch immer öfter mit Öl malen wird.

The theme of the 2nd workshop day was water:
Painting with oil colours is totally different from painting with watercolours.
My tip here is to paint the reflection in the water very fluidly, so that the colours can be nicely wiped into each other.
The biggest challenge in plein air painting is that the surface of the water is constantly changing: Sometimes it is smooth like a mirror, sometimes it is rippled and the reflection becomes blurred - and even just a small gust of wind completely destroys the reflection....!
I think I was able to give Sushma a few things to take away with her - and I am sure that I have taken away her fear of oil paints and that she will now paint with oils more and more often in addition to her wonderful au watercolour paintings.
